Knock, Knock, Earls Court Tube Station, London. Lost Connection Series. Mounted Limited Edition Prints & Canvas prints derived from my original Oil Painting.

Knock, Knock is a very special part of the Lost Connection series as is has one foot on fan art too. The police box outside Earls Court station is a real police box and is really there! It does look like the Tardis the Doctors method of transport through space and time, and does get a mention in the series too someone blew it up by mistake thinking it was the doctors! The painting was commissioned and as part of the commission I was challenged to hide (some in plain sight) several Doctor Who references. Some are clear others are less obvious. 15 in total can you find them all? It was great fun to do and I had to include my favourite doctors... Obviously this is just fan art built around a real location and not an official Dr Who Product... but it is a lot of fun!

Series is Limited to 850 prints per size there are a small amount of Artist Proof Test Prints available too. Each print is hand signed and numbered by the artist. Canvas edition is limited to 495 copies all signed and numbered by the artist.

On a snowy day early in 2004, Mark Braithwaite (perhaps foolhardily!) drove onto the North York Moors looking for inspiration for new paintings. Stranded in a sudden snowstorm, an abandoned phonebox stood out like a beacon, and from this the first "Lost Connection" painting was born!

I have been busy adding to the "Lost Connection" series for over twenty years - a nostalgic look at the Great British red telephone box set in England's green and pleasant land!
